Organic Gardening Workshops – April 2026
We are excited to collaborate with the Peoria Public Library to offer 2 opportunities to learn about growing food using organic methods. We will share what we’ve learned over the many seasons we’ve grown food for ourselves and our community. Growing your own food is rewarding and so delicious. Please join us!
April 20 – Peoria Public Library – North Branch, 6 p.m.
Learn about soil preparation, fertility, controlling weeds & pests and how to extend your growing season using organic farming methods long tested by the Poeppel family.
Free and open to adults. No pre-registration required.
April 25 – Broad Branch Farm – Chillicothe, IL 10 a.m. – 12 noon
22000 N. Berchtold Road, Chillicothe
Visit our farm to talk gardening! Learn about organic gardening basics and see how the team here at Broad Branch Farm produces food year round in our organically managed vegetable garden. Subjects to be covered include weed & pest control, mulching, soil fertility, planting, proper watering, food storage. It will be an information packed workshop. Pre-register HERE by April 22.
